About Us
Neuromuscular Plasticity for Natural Motor Rehabilitation (INcEPTION) Laboratory was established by Prof. Francesco Negro in 2022 in the Department of Clinical and Experimental Sciences at Università degli Studi di Brescia, Italy. INcEPTION is a research project funded by the European Research Council Consolidator Grant No. 101045605
We use decomposition of surface electromyograms, which combines high-density recordings and blind source separation methods, to non-invasively evaluate the activity of individual motor units in a broad range of applications. Our projects also involve the non-invasive application of neuromodulation techniques for the induction and assessment of neural plasticity in the spinal and supraspinal pathways.
What is our mission
By assessing intrinsic properties of the motor neuron pools and their synaptic inputs, we are attempting to characterize neural connectivity and its alterations with deficient motor control.
What is our goal
We aim to provide valuable insights in the neural control of human movement that can potentially impact the development of novel therapeutic strategies and interventions for neuromuscular disorders.
