Equipment

The laboratory is equipped with a fixed working station and a mobile station (the mobile station allows field research, outside the University).

Both working stations are equipped with the following biometric sensors:

1) Tobii Pro Nano Eye Tracker - 60 Hz (Eye-tracking bar)

Intended use: screen-based research

2) Pupil Core eye-tracking headset - 200 Hz (Eye-tracking glasses)

3) HTC Vive Pro Eye

Intended use: VR (Virtual Reality) eye-fixation and data collection

4) Shimmer 3 GSR + Kit (Galvanic Skin Response)

Intended use: GSR data collection

The Shimmer 3 GSR + (Galvanic Skin Response) unit provides connections and preamps for a galvanic skin response data acquisition channel (Electrodermal Resistance Measurement-EDR / Electrodermal Activity (EDA)).

5) iMotions Affectiva (facial expression analysis)

The software utilized in the lab is provided by iMotions (https://imotions.com/), a leading company in this field. The software on which the hardware equipment works is designed to perform research on human behavior and is able to perfectly integrate multiple biosensors providing different information.

We use 5 different iMotions modules:

1) CORE

2) Screen-Based Eye Tracking

3) GSR

4) Virtual Reality Eye Tracking

5) Affectiva

The software, in addition to integrating the described hardware, allows the following activities:

• Study Design within and between randomized subjects

• Presentation of stimuli (multimedia features including images, videos, live websites, surveys, mobile phone applications, software interfaces, games, VR)

• Data collection (participant management, real-time visualization, behavioral metrics)

• Markups and Annotations (creation of live or post-processing markers with annotations)

• Data analysis, data export and import

• Face Camera to record the respondent's face

• Schedule and initiate surveys jointly or separately from biometric research
