CoolFarmLab
CO-creation Of Pathways to foster agroecoLogical transition of FARMs driven by Living LAB approach
THE PROJECT
CoolFarmLab promotes more sustainable and resilient agriculture by testing innovative agroecological practices directly with farmers in Living Labs.
The project combines research and field collaboration to reduce the use of chemical inputs, enhance soil fertility, and foster agricultural biodiversity.
OBJECTIVES
The project aims to foster the agroecological transition through crop diversification, the use of sustainable agronomic practices, and biofertilizers to improve soil fertility and reduce chemical inputs. It also promotes natural biocontrol and participatory experimentation in Living Labs, engaging farmers and stakeholders to co-develop innovative solutions that strengthen the resilience of agricultural systems and their socio-economic sustainability.
METHODOLOGY
The project adopts a participatory approach within Living Labs, where farmers and researchers co-create and test innovative practices. The methodologies include crop diversification, the use of beneficial microorganisms and biofertilizers, the valorization of agricultural residues through composting and bioconversion, and natural biocontrol. Precision farming techniques and integrated assessment tools are applied to measure environmental, economic, and social impacts.
