Dan Lee is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Northern Iowa. Dan received his B.A. from Macalester College (2016) and obtained his Ph.D (2022) from the University of Minnesota with Thomas R. Hoye. In his doctoral work, he studied applications of the Hexadehydro Diels–Alder reaction to access polycyclic aromatic compounds. Following doctoral studies, Dan was a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Amos B. Smith III at the University of Pennsylvania. In his postdoctoral studies, he developed a synthetic route to a small molecule that targets HIV-1-infected cells.
