It is important to create an environment for students in which they feel safe, included, and supported. This begins with the routines and procedures that we put into place as classroom teachers. Creating an approach that is diversified for all learners is beneficial for those in your classroom beyond just the students who have disabilities. There are certain steps educators can take to build this environment for the betterment of their students.
This video will help all teachers better understand the ideas of what inclusion is and what it should be looking like in the classroom. Rebekah gives insight from the perspective of an inclusion teacher on things that she has seen help create successful classrooms using inclusion.
