The VI Brazilian Conference on Fuzzy Systems will take place remotely at the Institute of Biosciences, Humanities and Exact Sciences (IBILCE) of the São Paulo State University (Unesp) at São José do Rio Preto - SP.

The city of São José do Rio Preto

São José do Rio Preto is one of the most important municipalities in the interior of the state of São Paulo and the eleventh largest city in the state, with a population of about 460 thousand inhabitants. The city is about 440 km from the capital and is one of the main industrial, cultural and service centers in the interior of São Paulo.

The city has an important cultural tradition, ranging from handicrafts to theater, music and sports. Its main and most traditional football clubs are América Futebol Clube and Rio Preto Esporte Clube, founded, respectively, in January 1946 and April 1919.

With regard to tourism, one of its major attractions is the Parque da Represa Municipal (famous for its illustrious residents: capybaras). Other interesting parks in the city are Parque Cidade da Criança and Parque Ecológico, which are good options for kids, while the Municipal Zoo caters for the whole family. Its municipal market is also a point of local interest.

In the cultural field, the Museum of Primitivist Art (MAP) portrays rural life in the region through works by the painter José Antônio da Silva. The Naïf Art Museum (MAN), the Dr. Fernando Costa Municipal Public Library, the Paulo Moura Theater and the Humberto Sinibaldi Neto Municipal Theater are other prominent places in the city.

The Prof. Eribelto Manoel Reino Airport (SJP) is one of the most important airports in the interior of São Paulo. It receives commercial flights mainly from São Paulo and Campinas.
