Graduated in Mathematics from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1965);
Master of Sciences from the State University of Campinas (1971);
PhD in Mathematics from the State University of Campinas (1977);
Post-doctorate from Libera Universita Degli Studi Di Trento (1981 and 1985);
Currently he is
professor in the Graduate Program in Applied Mathematics at the State University of Campinas;
journal reviewer for the International Journal on Fuzzy Sets and Systems
journal reviewer of the Boletim do Instituto de Pesca e
journal reviewer for the Gams Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Bioscience;
Since 1989 he has supervised 24 Doctoral Theses, 11 of which in the area of Fuzzy Theory;
He has more than 70 publications in journals of international circulation, 36 of which are in the area of Fuzzy Theory;
He also has several publications in annals of national and international congresses and also books (by Editora da Unicamp (Portuguese version) / Springer (English version)) in Fuzzy Theory.
