ARARAQUARA
Araraquara, pronounced as [ɐɾaɾɐˈkwaɾɐ] or [aˌɾaɾɐˈkwaɾɐ], is a city located in the State of São Paulo, Brazil.
With an estimated population of 250,314 as of 2022, it spans an area of 1,004 sq km (388 sq mi).
The city is renowned for its stunning sunsets and its warm climate, earning it the nickname "the abode of the sun," especially during the summer months. Araraquara was established in 1817, boasting a rich history.
Araraquara is located at a distance of 276 km (172 miles) from São Paulo City, 184 km (114 miles) from Campinas, 94 km (59 miles) from Ribeirão Preto, and 43 km (27 miles) from São Carlos. Araraquara holds the distinction of having the largest exportation of orange and citrus concentrates in Latin America.
Weather
Although any type of weather forecast is influenced by global climate change, we provide a historical estimate of the maximum and minimum temperatures (Celcius) for our city from September 2nd to 4th.
Currency
The official Brazilian currency is the REAL. You will not be able to make any financial transactions using your local currency. Please do change some money at the airport to ensure that you'll have some Reais in your pocket.
How to get to Araraquara?
FROM ABROAD (INTERNATIONAL GUESTS).
BY PLANE: Many international airlines do flight non-stop to São Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport (GRU). Please check the companies for a specific itinerary. Once at the airport, you must get to Tietê Central Bus Station in São Paulo City. You may use a taxi (we do recommend GUARUCOOP) and or any taxi app such as UBER and CABIFY. Most taxis in São Paulo do accept credit cards such as Visa or MasterCard. Please ask in advance the driver to check if this is possible.
Once in São Paulo you can get to the Central bus Station (Tietê). You can also book in advance a bus trip (to/from) Araraquara by the following recommended bus companies: EMPRESA CRUZ, COMETA. The approximate trip time from Tietê Central Station to the bus Central Station at Araraquara is between 4:20 and 4:30 hours.
There are also local apps and searching machines that may help you book buses, for this route such as: CLICKBUS and BUSON.
BY BUS: There are several international bus companies that offer travel from Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Santiago de Chile, and Asunción to São Paulo. All of these buses will arrive at Tietê Central Bus Station. You can also book in advance a bus trip (to/from) Araraquara by the following recommended bus companies: EMPRESA CRUZ, COMETA. The approximate trip time from Tietê Central Station to the bus Central Station at Araraquara is between 4:20 and 4:30 hours.

Once at the airport, you will need to make your way to Ribeirão Preto Central Bus Station. You have the option to take a taxi or use popular taxi apps like Uber and Cabify.
Once you reach the bus station in Ribeirão Preto, you can board a bus to Araraquara. We recommend booking your bus trip in advance using local apps and search engines that can assist you with bus schedules, such as CLICKBUS and BUSON.

BY CAR: Please plan your trip carefully if you are considering reaching Araraquara by car from any national destination. The recommended final route is using the Washington Luiz Highway. This fantastic highway runs in the North-Northwest direction, departing as a branch from the Anhangüera Highway near the city of Limeira. It also crosses with the Rodovia dos Bandeirantes, nearby the city of Cordeirópolis.
Hotels and Accomodations
