The research conducted at the Laboratory of Neurobiology and Neurobiotechnology (LNN) aims to advance the understanding of the neural basis of anxiety, fear, and panic while also providing evidence to support the development of novel drugs for related mental disorders, such as generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, phobia, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Our laboratory employs a multidisciplinary approach, including animal models, such as open field, fear conditioning, elevated plus maze, and beetle mania task. These models are applied using optogenetic, pharmacological, and morphological tools. Beyond demonstrating scientific excellence, ethics, and integrity, LNN emphasizes mentorship, innovation, collaboration, and a positive mental attitude.
