Mike hopes this website helps to keep the subject of DACA legislation in the public eye. This is especially true in the coming weeks as DACA is one of the issues that is on the table in the face of a threatened government shutdown. Ultimately, he feels that DACA and its repeal is merely a plank in a raft of anti-immigrant sentiment and legislation. Mike would like to see legal challenges mounted in support of the Fourth Amendment rights of immigrants and other vulnerable populations. The authority for their detainment and extradition as it is currently being carried out does not come from an independent judiciary. Whether DACA is renewed or repealed, its life is finite and the program as it stands will end eventually. The current climate in which the extradition policies that affect DACA recipients are being expanded to Temporary Protective Status recipients from Haiti, Nicaragua and Honduras. Any Constitutional challenge is risky, but he feel that this is the path that advocacy for these kinds of issues will need to go in the future.

Currently, he is pursuing his Masters in Social Work in the clinical practice specialization at the University of New England.
