"Indigenous History and Knowledge in the Globalizing World"
"Indigenous History and Knowledge in the Globalizing World"
The term globalization has for decades become an inseparable part of the discussion of culture in Indonesia. Globalization takes many forms, from the movement of goods, services, and even cross-border cultural exchanges. History has recorded that globalization has started in the archipelago since early time with the activity of Nusantara sailors in the international trade in the spice route. This process helped shape the multicultural culture of the Indonesian nation. However, in this modern era, globalization that occurs not only has a positive impact on the development of science and technology but the other hand has a negative impact that has eroded the noble cultural values of our nation. More attention should be paid to local communities and indigenous peoples who are most affected by this rapid and drastic change. The traditions and culture of indigenous peoples have also changed and are threatened with being lost and not preserved, including literature and literacy that have been passed down from generation to generation.
The First History, Sociology, and Literacy Conference and International Webinar on "Indigenous History and Knowledge in the Globalizing World" is a contribution from the Ganesha University of Education to promote and actively involved in the preservation of knowledge and history possessed by indigenous people in Indonesia.
Following the specialization in the Department of History, Sociology, and Library Science, this national conference will discuss issues related to :
