Your Task
For this webquest you will take on the role of the Mayor of Coastal Town, North Carolina. Many of your residents are being forced to leave their homes due to coastal erosion. It is your job to decide how to handle the problem. First, you will need to learn about erosion. Next, you will look at how erosion affects the coast. Then, you will learn about different methods for preventing coastal erosion as well as the effects of those methods on the environment. It is your job to decide: should you try to prevent the erosion in Coastal Town, NC or allow nature to take its course? As mayor, you will write a letter to the residents of Coastal Town, NC describing your plan for the erosion problems your town is facing.
