My minor in Health and Medical Humanities has given me a clear view and understanding on health as well as healthcare. I have taken many elective classes all related to health care and they have been very informative. Currently, I am taking ANTH 3090 and the topics we have been discussing have been very interesting. As stated by the University, the minor complements the movement toward primary and patient-centered care in healthcare and provides an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the effects of health, wellness, and illness on patients, on health professionals, and on the social worlds in which they live and work. I agree with the interdisciplinary approach and I have enjoyed this minor a lot.
With my major in Health Systems Management, it has taught me a lot about being professional in the health care field. It has also taught me how to promote healthy communities. This has allowed me to work closely with COVID patients and partner with responsive population health systems.
Lastly, my minor in Public Health has truly taught me how to help save the world. I have truly gained so much knowledge on the different types of public health and their roles. To be able to identify the determinants of health and how they play a role in our daily lives is very important.
