I've been interested in theatre ever since I can remember. I would write elaborate movies and cast my family in them and shoot them on our little flip camera. I would put on performances in the living room with my cousins, even if it meant performing for just a couple of family members. Theatre has never ceased being exhilarating to me. It has always felt right!

I learned sewing from my grandmother when I was young and would spend summers with her showing me how to craft and make my own clothes. Ever since I was a child, I would make my own costumes for Halloween. As I got older, I would participate in costume contests and did really well. It was always a hobby though. When I came to UNC Charlotte, I was initially a business student, and I took electives in theatre, specifically costume classes. I eventually realized that I wanted to fully commit to what I love and transferred to to a theatre degree.
