I joined Mizzou in 2024 as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the NERD Lab. I have a PhD in Linguistics and graduated summa cum laude. My research focuses on the intricate interplay among neurolinguistic processes, cognitive and social dynamics, and the educational implications of second language acquisition, with a particular emphasis on experimental methodologies. I'm passionate about advancing the scientific understanding of how neurodiversity of humans affects their communication. I held a position of graduate research assistant at The Works Research Institute in the Netherlands, where I contributed to developing and implementing experimental studies on human homeostasis utilizing brain-imaging and spatial sound experiments.  Outside of academia, I love playing basketball and volleyball, cooking, and hiking.

I joined the NERD lab in Fall 2024 as a Ph.D. student in Interdisciplinary Neuroscience. I received a Master of Health Sciences in Speech-Language Pathology at Mizzou, building on a B.A. in Linguistics, Classical Greek, and English. My interests span all of these disciplines, to some degree, but are highly-motivated by a desire to know more about the neural mechanisms behind phonological, morphological, and syntactic processing across languages, especially where these domains intersect. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, painting, spending time outdoors, and taking care of my dog (Hazel), and bearded dragon (Tempo). 

I joined the NERD Lab in Fall 2024 as the lab manager. I graduated from Pomona College in 2022 with a degree in Linguistics. In between completing my undergraduate training and joining the NERD Lab, I served with AmeriCorps In Tulsa, Oklahoma in a high-need public high school where I mentored, tutored, and taught multicultural and first-generation low-income students like myself. I’m originally from Northwest Arkansas and a Questbridge Scholar who loves to serve his communities through mentorship and community building. Outside of academia, I’m an artist specializing in fibers (specifically denim) and documentation. 

I joined the NERD Lab in the Summer of 2024 as a volunteer. I recently graduated from Westminster College this past spring, majoring in Psychology with membership of PSYCHI. I am interested in the physiology of the bilingual brain. I hope to be on the forefront of developing theories in linguistic processing with regard to acculturation and language learning pedagogy, as well as adding to understandings of speech pathologies and the roles of psychopathologies on speech choices and patterns. Outside of the lab, I recently adopted a cute orange-cream kitten! 

I joined the NERD Lab in the Fall of 2024 as a research assistant while pursuing a degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with minors in Psychology and Business. I plan to graduate in May of 2026, and then continue my education to get my M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology. I am from St. James - a little town outside of Rolla, Missouri. I enjoy going to the gym, cooking new recipes, and movie nights with friends! 

I joined the NERD lab in the Fall of 2025 as a research assistant. I am a junior here at the University of Missouri majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and with a minor in Psychology. I'm from St. Louis, Missouri. I love to spend my free time reading, going on walks, cooking, and hanging out with my friends and family! 

I joined the NERD lab in the Fall of 2025 as a Research Assistant. I am majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and minoring in Human Development and Family Sciences at the University of Missouri. Once I graduate, I plan to attend graduate school to attain my Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I grew up in Bowling Green, Missouri and enjoy spending my time dabbling in photography, hanging out with friends, traveling to see family, and playing golf!

We are the NERD Lab's mascots. Our research examines the relationship between feline gesture and speech. The goal of our research is to understand how the feline gesture-speech relationship changes between kittenhood and adulthood and how it can enhance communication between cats and humans. In our free time, we enjoy sleeping, chewing on houseplants, exploring our new house, and hiding in boxes.

I joined the NERD lab in Fall 2023 as the lab manager. I graduated from Saint Louis University with my B.S. in Psychology and Spanish in May 2023. I am originally from O'fallon, MO. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, traveling, going to concerts, and reading. After my time in the lab, I am pursing a Master's in Social Work at the University of Missouri St. Louis.

I joined the NERD lab in the spring of 2025 as a research assistant. I am majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Human Development and Family Science at the University of Missouri. I’m from Madison, Wisconsin, and like to spend my free time with friends, watching TV, reading, and being outside.

I joined the NERD lab in Fall of 2024 as a research assistant. I am a junior at the University of Missouri-Columbia studying speech, language and hearing sciences with a minor in human development and family science. I am from the suburbs of Chicago. In my free time I enjoy running, spending time outside, eating ice cream (specifically cookie dough) and hanging out with my friends and family. 

I joined the NERD lab in Spring 2024 as a Research Assistant and graduated in May 2025 with a BHS in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and a minor in Psychology from the University of Missouri. I grew up in Jackson, Missouri. After my time in the lab, I am pursuing a masters in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at the University of Missouri on my journey to become a Speech-Language Pathologist! 

I joined the NERD Lab in Spring 2024 as an undergraduate research assistant. I am originally from McKinney, Texas where I grew up surrounded by art and music, which are now my favorite hobbies. After my time in the lab, I am going to continue attending Mizzou to pursue a Master of Health Sciences in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences.

I am currently an undergraduate student studying Speech, Language and Hearing Science with a minor in Education here at the University of Missouri. I'm originally from St. Charles Missouri, just outside of Saint Louis. In my free time I love crocheting, reading books, and trying out new recipes! 

I joined the NERD lab in Fall 2023 as a research assistant. I am currently a Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences major at the University of Missouri. My hometown is Morton, IL where I grew up with 3 younger brothers and a sassy yellow lab. In my free time, I enjoy painting, hammocking, watching crime shows, and eating Chick-fil-A.

I am currently working on my B.S. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Psychology, and plan to graduate in May of 2025. I plan on continuing my education and going to graduate school to get my M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology. I am from Lee's Summit, a suburb of Kansas City, MO. In my free time, I enjoy reading, trying out new coffee shops, and cooking.

I joined the NERD lab in Spring of 2024 as a research assistant. I’m currently a sophomore at the University of Missouri studying speech, language and hearing sciences. I’m originally from Edina Minnesota, right outside of Minneapolis. I’m currently involved in my sorority Zeta Tau Alpha and my jobs with the Mizzou Rec and Jumpstart here on campus. In my free time I love working out, shopping, and spending time with my friends and family.
