Calling all Cloverbuds! You’re invited to an afternoon of fun with the Wright County 4-H Ambassadors! Get ready for games, snacks, songs, crafts, and more! All Cloverbuds (and non 4-H friends grades K-3) are welcome.
4-H Project Workshop Day
Who: Grades 3+
What: Project Workshop Day is an opportunity for 4-H’ers to participate in hands-on workshops related to 4-H project areas.
Session 1 – 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Button Art: Dive into the creative world of button art! Using an assortment of colorful buttons, you'll design your own unique artwork to take home. Whether you want to create patterns, pictures, or something entirely original, this workshop is all about expressing yourself through buttons while creating your own button masterpiece!
White-Tailed Deer: Explore the world of White-Tailed Deer. You will learn how to age deer by looking at their teeth, learn about antlers and horns along with interesting facts.
Clay Jewelry: Come and make clay earrings! Learn how to make your own unique pair. You will learn how to roll, cut, assemble, and finish these fun pieces of jewelry.
Welding with Chocolate: Using basic welding techniques, but with a sweet twist, you’ll work with melted chocolate to shape and build. Use your creativity to build a strong bridge and test how much weight it can hold. Guaranteed to be a sweet adventure!
Cake Pops: Learn how to make delicious and fun cake pops! From baking and shaping to decorating, we'll guide you through each step to create these sweet treats. No baking experience needed—just bring your sweet tooth!
Session 2 – 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Bristle Bots: Build, test, and modify your Bristle Bot to see how quickly it can cross the finish line. Challenge other Bots to battle in the Bristle Bot Arena. Use the scientific process to design, build, test, and modify the bots, while learning how "to make the best BOT-ter .
Mason Jar Lamp: Transform a mason jar into a stylish lamp while learning how electricity works, the basics of wiring and assembly while creating a personalized lighting piece to take home. No experience needed—just bring your creativity!
Gardening Project Workshop: Want to learn how to exhibit vegetables, flowers and plants? In this workshop, transplant a tomato, learn how to trim flowers and create a succulent potted garden. All ages are invited to learn about the world of horticulture including: Vegetable Gardening, Flower Gardening, Indoor Gardening, Fruit, and Potato. Bring your questions!
Diamond Art: Diamond art is a hobby for novices and experienced crafters and similar to cross-stitch and paint-by-numbers. Creating a sparkling masterpiece is as easy as affixing vibrantly colored rhinestones to a self-adhesive canvas with a diamond art kit. The canvas is printed with the design as well as symbols to let you know exactly which color to place in each spot.
Pipe Cleaner Flower Bouquet: Create beautiful and colorful flowers using pipe cleaners and crafting techniques such as bending, twisting, and shaping to form various flower types, from simple daisies to intricate tulips in a unique bouquet that can be used as a decorative piece or gift.
Session 3 – 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Bunny String Art: "Hop on over” and join us for some fun spring string art! In this class, you'll create your own bunny string art to decorate your home for spring!
Wood Burning: Spark your creativity on wood. Learn the basics of woodburning and create your own wood art. Explore different techniques to burn designs into wood, practice creating simple designs and textures on wood while making something unique!
Wind Powered Vehicles: Combine engineering design with creativity to build your very own wind-powered vehicle! You'll learn how to harness the power of wind to move your vehicle and explore the basics of engineering as you design, test, refine and race your creation!
Easy After-School Snacks: Learn how to make delicious and healthy afterschool snacks! Get hands-on experience creating colorful parfaits, fruity kabobs, and tasty apple nachos. With simple ingredients and easy steps, they'll discover how to make nutritious snacks that are as fun to prepare as they are to eat!
Decorate a Drinking Glass: Learn how to arrange and attach colorful dried flowers onto your own drinkware, creating your own nature-inspired designs. It's a fun way to get crafty while making beautiful, one-of-a-kind drinkware!
