National 4-H Week is an opportunity to highlight the remarkable 4-H youth in your communities and showcase the incredible experiences that 4-H offers young people. This is a great time to promote your club too! Here’s one way your club can participate.
Create a way to promote 4-H with your club during this week. Some ideas include: 4-H info display in your community, social media promotion, all club members wear their 4-H shirts to school on the same day, etc. Tell us how you did this, including pictures. Each club participating will receive $25 towards ice cream at your next club meeting! Send your photos to Kelly (strei016@umn.edu) at the Extension office by October 14. Let us know if you have questions.
Wright County is very proud of our shooting sports program but we're always in need of more coaches to keep the program going strong! If you're interested in becoming a coach, you will need to complete volunteer screening and attend a state training. Trainings are held in the fall and spring and Wright County will cover the registration fees for coaches to attend as long as they are committed to volunteering in the program. Upcoming trainings include:
October 11 - Jordan, MN (all disciplines Saturday, including Coordinator)
October 12 - Jordan, MN (Recertification Advanced training Archery, Wildlife, Muzzleloading, Rifle/Pistol, and Shotgun) - You must already hold a certification in the discipline)
October 16 and 30 - ONLINE (Coordinators, only), 6-9 p.m. each evening
November 22 - Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve, MN (Wildlife, only)
Please read thoroughly the Minnesota 4-H SS&W Leader Certification Information for additional details for youth and recertifications. Registration for trainings will be through your 4honline.com account. Contact a staff member today for help getting signed up!
