Head to http://mn.4honline.com to sign up for 4-H, re-enroll, or make any changes to your contact information. Please make sure everything is up to date and current on your member profile before you begin fair registration.
Animals must be ID’ed online by May 15 (February 17 for Market Beef) . Late animal entries will be ineligible to receive State Fair Trips and purple ribbon or higher awards. 4-H ear tags are required on market beef and commercial females, dairy steers, meat and dairy market goats, sheep (except registered ewes), gilts and barrows. Read more on our Animal ID page.
Registration tells us which projects you would like to exhibit at the fair. Head to the projects section of this website to read the information and requirements for each project. Be sure to read this thoroughly for each project you are entering.
Pre-register for classes by June 13 online. Entries received after this date are not eligible for MN 4-H State Trips, purple ribbons, or higher awards and may not be included in printed materials (show catalogs, back tags, etc). Registration errors are the member's responsibility and may result in penalties.
Deadlines, Consequences, and One-Time Exemption - Every Minnesota 4-H member is eligible for a "one-time" member exemption. This exemption provides the ability one-time in a 4-H member's career for the 4-H member to acknowledge they missed a 4-H deadline related to enrollment or competitive event participation and waive the consequences for the named deadline. Some restrictions apply; please contact office staff for more information and procedure.
Exhibits will be judged in the classes they were pre-registered for only; judges will not switch projects to a different class. Please choose your classes carefully and contact the office for help. It is the member’s responsibility to choose the proper class for their project.
You need to sign up each project you are bringing. Enter the project as many times as the number of projects you are bringing (check for limits). For example, if you plan on bringing two scrapbook projects, you will need to add that project in the online registration twice.
There are no penalties for signing up for a project you don't end up bringing to the fair, but there is a penalty if you sign up for a project after the deadline is passed. For this reason, be sure to sign up for anything you might potentially bring on your initial registration and then contact the office later if you know you wont be participating.
Project specific reminders:
Clothing/Fashion Revue: Signing up for Clothes You Buy does not automatically enter you into Fashion Revue; you need to sign up for this separately!
Livestock: Remember that even if showmanship and interviews are required for your livestock project, you still need to sign up for it on your registration in order to have your name in the judge’s book and show program
Livestock: If you are not sure at registration time which animal you will be showing at the fair, please choose the one that is most likely. Staff will have the ability to change the animal for you (with no penalties) up to and including at check-in at the fair as long as it's ID'ed. Calling/emailing as soon as you know a change needs to be made will help to expedite the check-in process at the fair.
Communication/Video Entries: You will need to sign up for a time-slot for judging in addition to registering the project. See premium book for further instructions.
Auction: Use the menu at the top to register for the blue ribbon auction You can sign up multiple animals and then narrow the options down later at the fair.

If you have any of these, please let us know on your FairEntry registration form! For more information read our 4-H Competitive Events: Judging Experiences for Youth with Disabilities or Injuries
