Pediatric Research Education & Scholarship Symposium (PRESS)

This is annual event that showcases research and scholarly activities performed by trainees and sponsored by faculty members!
PRESS uses a combination of oral and poster presentations to showcase these activities!
Medical students are allowed and encouraged to attend and present!

Early Childhood Speaker Series - Dr. Megan Gunnar
On Monday, January 16 at 12:15 - 1 p.m. join the MN AAP for the Early Childhood Speaker Series on zoom.
Dr. Megan Gunnar, Regents Professor at the University of Minnesota Institute of Child Development, will discuss the effects of toxic stress on early child development!

2023 AAP Advocacy Conference
When: March 26th to March 28th, 2023
Where: Washington, D.C.
Join the conference to learn advocacy skills and advocate for kids in your state and federally! The curriculum is designed to prepare attendees for congressional meetings, held on the last day of the conference!

This is a great opportunity to learn how to be a strong advocate for children's health with pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, and pediatric trainees! There will be skill building workshops and guest speakers that discuss policies that impact children!

Early Youth Eyecare (E.Y.E.) program at Allina is a pediatric focused volunteering opportunity that does vision screenings and provides follow up for kids in the Twin Cities' public schools.
Volunteering involves attending one 90 minute training on one of 3 days: Sept. 7th (virtual), Sept. 15th (virtual), Sept. 20th (in person at Allina Commons in Minneapolis).
A commitment of 4 shifts ranging between 1-3 hours is required. Screenings take place during elementary school hours (Monday - Friday from 8 am to 3 pm) between late September and early March.
