Abstract submissions will be due March 9, 2026. 

The Earth Student Research Symposium (UMNEarthSRS) is an event where graduate and undergraduate students can present their scientific research in a friendly, constructive setting. 

Started by a few graduate students in Spring 2015, this event is organized and run by a committee of graduate students. The symposium is a great chance for students to receive feedback from researchers, faculty, and peers, as well as to connect with a broad, environmentally-minded audience.  

The symposium is jointly organized by the department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the department of Soil, Water, and Climate. We also welcome students from the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory and the Civil, Environmental, and Geo-Engineering Department.
