Each semester, CSEIA organizes our signature Buddy Program. In the CSEIA Buddy Program, we “buddy” up international exchange students with domestic students, giving strong application preference to CSE students.

CSEIA’s Buddy Program gives our international exchange students an automatic friend on campus at the start of the semester and our program serves to help them acclimate to our campus. For our undergraduate domestic students, this is a unique opportunity to get to know a student from another country.

Meeting and spending time with individuals from different cultural backgrounds teaches them a lot and enriches their lives. Spending time with their buddies is not only fun and educational, but it also allows both our exchange and domestic students to better appreciate cultures that are different from their own.

In order to reduce the barriers of our buddies meeting up, we reimburse up to $5 per individual each month for coffee or tea. We are more than happy to pay for our buddies’ coffee or tea so that they are motivated to get together in the small amount of free time that they have.

The Buddy Program application for both international and domestic student are open at the beginning of every semester. Sadly the application for Fall 2019 semester have close, but please look forward to Spring of 2020 for a new set of application and events.
