Students are more engaged in their learning when they experience a sense of connection to their courses and in their fields of study. In this workshop, we'll consider ways in which writing activities can support the cultivation of academic belonging. We'll focus specifically on developing course-relevant activities that ask students to share prior knowledge and experiences, to reflect on their own learning, and to provide actionable feedback on the course design and environment.

Facilitator: Matthew Luskey (Assistant Director, Writing Across the Curriculum)
Audience: Faculty members, instructors, and graduate students
Format: Onsite workshop
