While students can benefit greatly from taking courses in public speaking, instructors in disciplines outside of communication studies can also offer students meaningful opportunities to develop and practice the writing skills associated with disciplinary conventions for presentation.

This lunch panel brings together faculty from diverse departments who teach presentation and oral communication skills in their courses. After brief presentations from the panelists, most of our time will be focused on questions and discussion.

Panelists: Wendy Anderson (Communication Studies), Brian Sostek (Honors Program and School of Nursing), Michael Winikoff (Science Communication Lab)

Facilitator: Dan Emery (Assistant Director, Writing Across the Curriculum)
Audience: Faculty, instructors, and graduate students
Format: Faculty and student panel and discussion
