SIGN is a student group sponsored by the American Academy of Neurology. Our local chapter at the University of Minnesota is an active and busy group. The Officers and Faculty Advisor meet throughout the year to introduce medical students to a career path in neurology. With the support of the Chairman and Vice Chairman for Education, Department of Neurology, we hope to create even more opportunities and research options for medical students interested in neuroscience. If you are interested in becoming a member, or even an officer, please contact sign@umn.edu for more information.
The purpose of the group is to make medical students aware of opportunities available in the field of neurology and to provide opportunities for medical students to participate in activities related to the field of neurology including: discussions by neurologists, patient presentations, seminars, skills workshops, journal clubs, research opportunities, learning materials, and arranged shadowing of neurologists in the workplace.
