Tips:
Squeeze the extra liquid out of the potato mixture to prevent the oil from splattering.
Wait to turn the party patty until the edges get crispy.
Crack open an egg. Mix the egg with a fork.
Thaw hashbrowns or grate a potato. When done, use a paper towel to pat the potatoes dry. Put in a bowl.
Add onions, egg, and salt to the potatoes.
Form into small balls. Squeeze out any extra liquid. Press flat with your hands and put on a plate. Pat dry with a paper towel.
Adult step: Heat a frying pan with a small amount of oil. Put the party patties in the pan. Flip when the edges are crispy. Put on a plate.
Use a paper towel to pat off extra oil. Serve with applesauce or sour cream.
St. Louis Park is a town in eastern Minnesota.
Some Jewish men and women wear a prayer shawl called a tallit for morning prayers and for religious holidays.
Traditional Jewish foods include matzo ball soup, challah (braided bread), kugel (egg noodle casserole), brisket, tzimmes (prune, sweet potato, and brisket stew), and latkes.
St. Louis Park is home to a Beehive Fireplace. It is a nine-foot-tall structure made of stones and looks like a beehive. You can visit the beehive fireplace at the Lilac Park: 5505 Minnesota 7 Service Rd, St. Louis Park, MN

Celebrating with Preschoolers
Holidays and special events are a great time to enjoy food and family. Here are three tips to keep it fun and tasty:
Keep it colorful: Include a mix of foods from all the food groups. Add fruits and veggies to your party table.
Sip smart: Serve water in fun cups with a splash of 100% juice, instead of sugary drinks.
Enjoy the moment: Focus on fun and togetherness—don’t stress too much about perfect nutrition for one day.
Outdoors Inside Activity
This activity helps preschoolers explore nature indoors:
Observe nature through the window. Attract wildlife by feeding birds.
Plant seeds, like sprouts, and watch them grow.
Read books and look at pictures of nature. Here is a list of books with a nature theme.
