University of Minnesota
I enjoyed six years serving various positions including president and secretary of the AMS Student Chapter at the University of Minnesota. We exist to spread joy in mathematics, make research more accessible, and build community within all levels of mathematics. Come find us at any of our events! (Or suggest an event!)
I deeply enjoyed my time as a mentor for the Mathematics Project at Minnesota, 2019-2023. MPM is a four-day workshop (a math camp if you will (and much more)) for undergraduates who come from groups underrepresented in math. It is intended for students of any year who enjoy math, whether or not they plan on studying it, to build and discover community in math and have fun while learning what math can be. Past participants are encouraged to come back and be a counselor/mentor. If you know a student who might enjoy this workshop, please recommend them!
I was also the longtime wrangler of the Math Thespians, who come out sporadically to perform department-approved skits. (If you are a U of M student and this appeals to you, please feel welcome to email me!)
Other outreach programs I have helped with:
MATHCEP Saturday Morning Math sessions (2021-2022)
UMN Math department Directed Reading Program (2018, 2019, 2022)
