Why do you love Net Impact?

I like Net Impact because it is such a welcoming community. When I was coming into Carlson I was worried I would not find a group of people who cared about the environment and social justice issues. Luckily, I found this group of professional students who are out to make a positive change in the world.

Why do you love Net Impact?

I love Net Impact for the exposure it gives each member to all the opportunities in community. There are many outlets that the UMN gives each student but access to the resources of Net Impact exponentially increases the opportunities that one has in their life. It has given me more knowledge of the sustainable field than I could have ever imagined, and I am grateful for that.

What is your favorite memory in Net Impact?

My favorite memory in Net Impact would be any of the Net Impact Consulting Showcases. To see students with similar values come together in teams and use their skillsets to better non-profit, local businesses is so cool to see. Net Impact Consulting is a program where you see the intersection of business and sustainability which is rare to see. It is rewarding to not only participate, but to watch students combine passions with skills and work together to improve our community.

Why do you love Net Impact?

I absolutely love Net Impact for so many reasons! It's a place where I feel a strong sense of belonging, surrounded by like-minded individuals who share my passion for using business as a force for good. The organization not only preaches but practices good business ethics, emphasizing sustainability and social impact. What's more, the people involved are incredibly friendly and supportive, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Net Impact's missions and the organizations it collaborates with are endlessly intriguing, covering a wide range of topics. And the diversity of the people it attracts ensures that every interaction is both enriching and inspiring. Most importantly, Net Impact shows a different, more positive side of the business world, one that proves profit and purpose can coexist, offering a hopeful perspective in a world often focused on challenges. Being part of this community is a source of immense joy and a reminder that, together, we can make a meaningful impact and create a better world through business.

Why did you join Net Impact?

I joined Net Impact because I got very involved with sustainability in high school and wanted to continue in that area in college. I wanted to learn more about how I could be helping the planet with my actions and also how I could find a job someday in a field supporting sustainability.

What is your favorite memory in Net Impact?

My favorite memory in Net Impact was touring the NetZro food upcycling company in Minneapolis. I was new to Net Impact when I attended this meeting, so meeting new members was fun. We also got to speak with professionals from NetZro who were dedicated to sustainability for their company and it made me realize how impactful companies like NetZro were for the environment.
