Review Process

PLEASE NOTE: In addition to manuscript MURAJ requires and abstract describing the work being published and a personal biography describing personal and work interests. Details will be included once submission has been received.

Step One: Upon submission (Opens September 5^th) of your manuscript your Advisor or Principle Investigator will receive an email dictating your submission and ensuring that they did previously preview and guild the project/manuscript production. This will not require any active approval on the Advisor’s part. Additionally, your manuscript will be submitted into one of these ten categories that have 2-4 student reviewers: Biological/Health Sciences, Engineering/Physical Sciences, Mathematics/Computer Science, Social Sciences/Education/Communication, Literature (English/History), Fine Arts, Diversified Studies, Business/Law/Political Science, and Architecture/Design.

Step Two: Your manuscript will be de-identified to preserve integrity of review process and will be forwarded to appropriate reviewer (by December 30^th) based on submission selection. To be clear, the deadline for submissions is December 30^th. Authors will hear from MURAJ on February 5^th at the latest to designate publication in three categories: 1. Accepted with Minor Revision 2. Accepted with Major Revision 3. Rejected. This decision and revision will be sent to the author of the publication.

Step Three: Upon receiving the suggested revision and decision the author with have two weeks to make appropriate revisions or challenge suggested revisions with a final deadline for revisions being February 26^th.

Step Four: You revised paper will be given to reviewers once more and will have two weeks to review a second time. As of March 23^rd the author will receive final contact MURAJ with reviewer’s decision: 1. Accepted with Final Revisions 2. Final Acceptance. Final revisions are for any remaining revision MURAJ deems NECESSARY for publication. Authors in “Final Acceptance” have no further work at this time.

Step Five: Upon receiving final decision authors in “Accepted with Final Revisions” will have until April 2^nd to make NECESSARY revisions and submit to MURAJ for publication. If these revisions are not made publication of work will not occur. After April 2^nd MURAJ will not accept ANY REVISIONS under any circumstance.

Step Six: All accepted publications will be reviewed by the Editorial Board and Editor-in-Chief before publication. During this time the Editorial Board and Editor-in-Chief reserve the right to correct minor grammatical errors, punctuation etc., that may have been missed previously. All publications will also be review by faculty for approval.

Step Seven: All publications will be published on MURAJ website hosted in collaboration with University of Minnesota Libraries by May 2^nd.
