Professional Essentials Milestone (PEM) introduces law students to core concepts in professional development and interpersonal skills essential for career success. PEM includes a series of workshops that complement your legal education by focusing on key skills for professional growth. Students will hear from staff, faculty, alumni, and legal professionals with expertise in career development and the legal field. Those who complete the program requirements will receive a transcript notation.
Self exploration to understand individual professional short-term and long-term goals, and learn helpful tools for career success.
Gain strong, appropriate communications skills to create a professional brand with focus, purpose, and clarity.
Learn team dynamics and build collaboration skills to efficiently complete work in a timely manner with the right resources.
Understand and respect diverse views in order to provide professional and ethical client representation and work effectively across different perspectives.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Attendance at a minimum of 8 PEM workshops (or qualifying workshops) over course of 3 years of Law School

NETWORKING REQUIREMENTS:
Creation and/or update of LinkedIn professional profile and connect with your assigned career counselor
Involvement with, or attendance at, a minimum of one Law School internal student group and/or networking event
Involvement with, or attendance at, a minimum of one external professional association and/or networking event
Complete the PEM Networking Requirements Tracking Form to track your networking requirements.
