Join the club ~ Perhaps one of the best ways to start getting involved with microbiology here at the U is to join the club! It's a great way to both learn more about microbiology and meet like minded people at the same time. Joining the club is easy! All you need to do is join our mailing list, attend a meeting, or visit us at one of our events to get started.
Microbiology Major / Minor ~ The U offers both a major and a minor for microbiology. The microbiology major prepares students for advanced work in graduate programs in microbiology and related fields and serves as preparation for careers in the health sciences. The minor is 14 credits and open to both CBS and non-CBS students.
Research ~ Another one of the great ways to get involved with microbiology and the club is to engage in research. The University offers undergraduates two types of research opportunities: directed research and Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). The Department of Microbiology & Immunology here on campus focuses on leading-edge research initiatives and collaborative partnerships, their faculty, students and research staff are expanding our understanding of microorganisms, disease, and the immune response.
