AWARDS & RECOGNITION INFORMATION

We are excited to honor our Meeker County 4-H youth for all of their accomplishments throughout the year during our fall Awards Celebration held in November!

Here you will find all the applications for awards that are available for Meeker County 4-H Members.

OUTSTANDING AWARDS

These award recognize Meeker County 4-H Members in grades 6+ that have excelled in one of the following areas:

  • Longtime 4-H'er
  • 4-H County Ambassador
  • Animal Science Member
  • Expressive Arts Member
  • Family & Consumer Science Member
  • Mechanical Science Member
  • Natural Science Member
  • Personal Growth & Development Member
  • Plant & Soil Science Member

You may apply for more than one award, however, each 4-H Member may only receive one Outstanding Award per year.

MINNESOTA 4-H KEY AWARD

This award recognizes 4-H members for outstanding contributions to 4-H and the community as citizens and leaders. 4-H is proud of its youth leaders! The Key Award recognizes your contributions to your club and the community, and encourages you to grow as an outstanding citizen.

PROJECT RECORDS

4-H Members are honored based on project records submit during the 4-H year that was just completed. There are general records that are available on the Minnesota 4-H Record Keeping website or you can request project specific records from the Extension Office by emailing mnext-meeker@umn.edu.

There are project records, and participation summaries. Records should be done one per project completed in the 4-H year. Participation summaries are to be done one per year.

Members who submit their project records will receive project pins for their hard work and accomplishments.

Please note , the Pin Award Application is not required starting this year. Only the record(s) & participation summary are required.

BEST SET OF RECORDS

This award recognizes 4-H Members for their exceptional record keeping of their 4-H projects and learning. Eligible 4-H Members must complete project records for all projects exhibited at the County Fair.

YOUNG ACHIEVER

This is an annual award for a younger 4-H member who has shown enthusiasm by his/her participation in a variety of 4-H activities and by his/her own positive attitude. To be eligible for this award, a member must be in third, fourth or fifth grade during the previous 4-H year. A representative adult club leader may nominate one or two members to be considered for this award. The nomination should be made without the member’s knowledge so the awarding will be a surprise.

Activities of this member might include:

    • Attends and participates in club meetings.
    • Worker in the 4-H Foodstand at the County Fair
    • County Fair Exhibitor
    • Share the Fun
    • Performing Arts Day
    • Fashion Revue
    • Demonstration Day
    • Food Review
    • Livestock Judging Team
    • Community Pride
    • Arts-In
    • Club Officer

EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Meeker County 4-H Federation supports up to 3 Meeker County 4-H Members or Alumnus annualy with a $500.00 educational scholarship.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Be a current Meeker County 4-H Member or Alumnus.
    • Have a minimum of 5 years of 4-H membership, with the last 3 years in the Meeker County 4-H program.
    • Demonstration 4-H leadership roles.
    • Use the scholarship for further education within 3 years of high school graduation.
    • Currently enrolled in an institution of higher learning.
    • Submit application to the Meeker County Extension Office by the 3rd Monday in October to be considered.

Members are only eligible to receive the Meeker County 4-H Scholarship one time.

You may apply for up to three years after high school.

HONOR CLUB AWARD

This award recognizes our 4-H Clubs for all of their hard work, deidcation, and service to the community. Each club applying will complete the applicaiton together as a club, highlighting their participation throughout the past 4-H year.

4-H ALUMNI OR FRIEND OF 4-H

Do you have an outstanding 4-H supporter that you feel deserves recognition for their contributions to our 4-H program or a 4-H Alumni that has contributed their time or talents to our 4-H program? This is the perfect opportunity to honor local 4-H supporters & alumni!

4-H VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

Do you know a 4-H volunteer that deserves recognition for their incredible support and involvement of our Meeker County 4-H program? Now is the time to recognize them for your dedication!

OUTSTANDING CLUB OFFERS AND SCRAPBOOK

For these awards, there is no need to complete an application, just submit the following to the Extension Office by the 3rd Monday in October.

Scrapbook: Your club's completed scrapbook

Secretary: Your completed club secretary book

Reporter: Nothing! We keep track of the articles you submit to us from your club throughout the past 4-H Year.

Treasurer: Your completed club treasurer book

Please see the evaluations to make sure that you have completed all steps expected.
