20th Annual UMN Women's Health Research Conference
Friday, February 20th
MCHSIG is co-sponsoring this year's Women's Health Research Conference! The UMN Center for Women's Health Research presents their 20th annual conference with the theme "The Past, Present and Future of Women's Health Research." This conference "draws interdisciplinary women's health researchers, healthcare providers, students, and community public health professionals for a day of learning, networking and research dissemination" through presentation, discussion, and poster sessions.

Women's Health Research Journal Club
Monday, February 16th
The UMN Center for Women's Health Research hosts a journal club for students, staff, and faculty to discuss topics relating to interdisciplinary women's health literature. This virtual session in February will be co-sponsored by MCHSIG and will cover new research in the field relating to Maternal and Child Health.

MCH Moves!
Folks from the Center for Leadership Education in Maternal and Child Public Health and MCH Student Interest Group (MCHSIG) want to get to know you! A MCHSIG member, Center staff or faculty member will lead the group for a short 30-45 minute walk. We'll venture outside when the weather permits and use the Gopher Way when it doesn't. Students can reserve a locker in the SPHERE if they'd like to secure their items while we walk.

Join MCHSIG for a Cozy Craft Makerspace Event with Hot Drinks!
Take a break and unwind with MCHSIG at our Craft Makerspace Event! Whether you're into knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, or just want to get creative, come get cozy, make something special, and connect with fellow students. We'll have warm, comforting drinks from Caribou Coffee to keep you toasty while you craft!
No experience? No problem! We’ll have materials for sewing and embroidering pillows, knitting and crocheting, and even making MCHSIG related jewelry. Feel free to bring your own craft projects, otherwise materials will be provided.
All are welcome -- bring your friends too!

Global Maternal and Child Health (MCH): Spotlight on Students’ Work in the Dominican Republic, Uganda and the Philippines

What are students doing to help shape global health? Facilitated by MCH Program Chair Dr. Zobeida Bonilla, the student speakers will discuss the:
different programs and populations they engaged with
preparation needed to immerse themselves in a global community
nuts-and-bolts of undertaking global work (identifying a site, securing funding, making travel plans, meeting ApEx requirements, etc)
rewards, challenges and take-aways of their work
