MWF 11:15-12:05 (Spring, 2026)
The goal of this course is to develop the basic theoretical concepts needed to construct, analyze and implement accurate and efficient algorithms for the numerical solution of problems in science, engineering, and mathematics. The course should be accessible and useful for students in science and engineering as well as mathematics.
The prerequisites for this course are undergraduate courses or equivalent in linear algebra, differential equations, and advanced calculus. Prospective students should contact the instructor about questions concerning their preparation for this course. Homework will develop both theoretical and computational skills. The instructor will provide a draft of his textbook and additional references.
