Joshua Weiner is a transplant surgeon at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he serves as Florence Irving Assistant Professor of Surgery, Surgical Director of the Intestinal Rehabilitation and Transplantation Program, and a Principal Investigator at the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology. Dr. Weiner trained in general surgery at Columbia before performing his abdominal organ transplantation and hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery fellowship at Georgetown. He has over 20 years of research experience in the field of transplant immunology. Dr. Weiner's clinical practice includes kidney, pancreas, and intestinal transplantation, and his current research interests include the investigation of multilineage chimerism after intestinal transplantation and the association between the intestinal microbiome and rejection.
