Hideki Masaki, PhD is a Specially appointed Assistant Professor at the Institute of Science Tokyo. He earned his Ph.D. in Developmental Biology from Tohoku University and began his professional career in the pharmaceutical industry, working at Schering AG and Bayer Schering Pharma. During this time, he involved in developing human stem cell-based drug screening platforms, including establishment of human iPSCs. He later became a founding member of the U.S.-based biotech startup "iZumiBio," where he focused on applying human iPSCs for drug discovery. Transitioning from industry to academia, he joined Prof. Nakauchi’s lab at the University of Tokyo, contributing to research on generating transplantable organs from human PSCs in chimeric animals. His research interests include Organ Regeneration, Developmental Biology, and Stem Cell Biology.
