Duluth Public Schools stretches 25 miles from end to end, with over 20 schools, including 2 high schools, 2 middle schools, 9 elementary schools, a Spanish and Ojibwe Immersion in elementary, several residential and alternative setting schools, an online school, and more. In 2023, the district enrolled over 8,000 students (Pre K - 12) and employed nearly 500 teachers.
Ely Public Schools serves the community of Ely and the surrounding area, providing education to students from Pre K through 12th grade. Fond du Lac Ojibwe School is a K-12 School with about 160 American Indian students. The school is a nonprofit organization and is one of the 183 elementary and secondary schools funded by the Bureau or Indian Education (BIE). The school is located in northern Minnesota on the Fond du Lac Reservation.
