We are passionate about understanding host-pathogen interactions important to systemic bacterial infections and battling the antimicrobial resistance crisis. Our research focuses on the pathogenesis of Gram-negative bacteria, and understanding how species like Klebsiella pneumoniae cause bacteremia and sepsis. We seek to define how the innate immune system controls K. pneumoniae infection and how bacteria evade this stress in return.
