Boat-Generated Wake and Propeller Wash

Impacts on Minnesota Lakes

A Project of SAFL's Healthy Waters Initiative

This initiative focuses on conducting robust research on Minnesota's lakes and rivers. Our Phase I project began in fall 2020 and focused on characterizing the wake waves of various recreational boats. The report was published February 2022 and can be found here. Our Phase II project will focus on characterizing the propeller wash of recreational boats under various usage scenarios.
