Jeff Marr, MS PE

Jeff Marr is the Associate Director of Engineering and Facilities at the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory. In this role, Jeff oversees the applied research team at SAFL, which has ongoing work in stormwater, hydraulic modeling, wind and water power, river engineering and restoration, and technology develop for field monitoring. Jeff is the project lead of the Healthy Waters Initiative.

Andy Riesgraf, MS

Andy Riesgraf is a Researcher at SAFL. For this project, he leads the daily fieldwork logistics and activities. Andy brings years of experience in boat operations, fabrication of data logger apparatuses, and their deployment in the field.  Andy is interested in how this data might be informative to impacts on bottom sediments, aquatic vegetation, and fish population dynamics.

Bill Herb, PhD

William Herb, PhD, is a Research Associate at SAFL. His research includes hydrology, lake and stream water quality, fish habitat, and climate change. His current projects include a study to predict the size distribution of wind-generated waves on Minnesota lakes.

Jessica Kozarek, PhD

Jessica Kozarek, PhD, is a Research Associate at SAFL. She conducts experiments linking physical, chemical, and biological processes in aquatic ecosystems in the lab and the field. Her research interests are in the areas of aquatic ecosystem restoration and management; ecohydraulics; use of hydraulic models to develop restoration guidance; and water quality and nutrient dynamics.

Matt Lueker

Matt is an Associate Engineer at SAFL and has over 15 years of experience in applied and basic hydraulic research. His research is primarily related to the measurement of flow, forces, and sediment transport near structures like bridge piers, scaled models of hydraulic structures, and wind turbines. For this project, Matt brings knowledge of fluid dynamics and measurement methodologies.

Kimberly Hill, PhD

Kimberly Hill, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo-Engineering. Her research interests include pattern formation in complex systems, pattern formation in natural, granular material, particle-laden flows, granular material in road beds, and river restoration.
