Come learn more about the Minnesota Hand Surgery Fellowship sponsored by the HealthPartners Institute for Medical Education at Regions Hospital. This one-year, ACGME-accredited program will prepare you for an exciting career in hand surgery through its broad spectrum of surgical experiences and extensive support and mentorship from fellowship faculty.

FELLOWSHIP SITES

Our twelve-month Minnesota Hand Surgery Fellowship Program takes place at two Level-1 trauma centers, a dedicated pediatric hospital, and outpatient clinics. The Hand Surgery Fellowship presents a broad range of clinical material, from straightforward elective procedures to complex reconstructions in a variety of clinical settings.

The Minnesota Hand Surgery Fellowship program provides fellows with a broad spectrum of hand surgery experience. Fellows will manage complex hand trauma including microvascular work at two Level-1 trauma centers, challenging congenital hand differences at Gillette Children’s hospital, and common elective hand procedures at our outpatient clinic and ambulatory surgery centers. On-call responsibility is six nights per month and only at Regions Hospital.

MENTORSHIP AND ACADEMIC CAREER TRAINING

The fellowship program strives to develop surgeons that have strong surgical, academic, and leadership skills necessary for their career. 


The fellowship provides funding and administrative help for fellows to complete a clinical research or quality improvement project.  When you join our fellowship, we commit to help you not just during your fellowship year, but throughout your career. 


Fellows also work with orthopedic and plastic surgery residents. In addition, fellows participate in weekly conferences, including a mix of case discussions and topical lectures.
