Hand Skills Day

James House, MD

For more than twenty years, the Department of Orthopedic Surgery has hosted the annual James House, MD Lectureship & Hand Skills Day. The House Lectureship was established as a tribute to Dr. James House's many years of service at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. House completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Minnesota and joined the faculty in 1968. Dr. House completed a hand fellowship post-residency, served as interim department chair from 1972-1974, and was twice voted the University of Minnesota Medical School Distinguished Teacher of the Year.
