To create the current prototype, an engineering analysis was performed on the equation models from the 'How It Works' section to optimize deflection and sound transmission. The main variables analyzed were 'arm' length, width and thickness to optimize deflection and surface area of diaphragm circle and thickness of coating to optimize sound transmission loss (STL).
A) PDMS valves, multiple configurations with varying thicknesses and arm widths. B) Rigid bodies used to secure valves. C) Assembled current prototype device.

Rigid Body (Polypropylene)
Valve (10:1 PDMS with Au Coating)
Rigid Body: Injection molded
Valve: Pour mold, degas mold, cure PDMS at 60°C for 1 hour, and use chemical vapor deposition to apply Au coating.
Snap 2 rigid body pieces around the valve tabs.
Glue rigid body to stent with hydroxyapatite.
