Reimbursement for Invited Participants
For those of you joining us from outside of Minnesota, you should submit your receipts to csedsi@umn.edu as soon after the workshop as possible.
Things you should know:
Receipts are required for all other expenses greater than $25. If you do not have a receipt, you may complete the statement in lieu of receipt form. Contact us if you need one of these forms.
Tips should not be greater than 20%.
UMN reimburses meals for non-UMN employees using the actual receipt. We do not reimburse based on per diem. This means you should keep all your meal receipts. If you pay with a card, submit both the card receipt (it usually has only the total) and the itemized receipt showing what was ordered.
Cost of meals should not exceed the federal per diem rate: breakfast $23; lunch $26; dinner $38.
You can scan or take a photo of the receipts, as long as they are legible.
We do not reimburse for alcohol.
We will reimburse for Uber/Lyft/taxi to or from the airport.
Travel by air is limited to the lowest, non-refundable, fare class available at the time of booking that meets the UMN requirements and meets the traveler’s needs.
We will reimburse for your airline ticket as long as it is Economy. As an example, for Delta flights we reimburse for Main Cabin. Delta Comfort Plus (Premium Economy) is allowed for flights over four hours.
The workshop will take place in University Hall in the McNamara Alumni Center on the East Bank of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus. The reception and poster session on August 4, as well as lunch on both days, will take place in the Thomas Swain Room and The Commons.
McNamara Alumni Center is located at 200 Oak Street SE, a short five-minute walk from the Graduate Hotel, as shown on the Google map to the right. There is also a tunnel from the hotel to McNamara.
Besides taxis and ride services, you can choose to take light rail from the airport to the Graduate Hotel and the University of Minnesota campus.
Take the Blue Line from MSP to downtown Minneapolis and get off at US Bank Stadium. Then transfer to the Green Line going east towards St. Paul. Get off at the East Bank station, which is a half block west of the Graduate Hotel and right across the street from Keller Hall. The fare is $2.50 and the trip should take 30-40 minutes.
