1. Connect to eduroam or use a VPN connection. VPN connection information is available at http://it.umn.edu/services/all/data-network/vpn/
2. Open Windows Remote Desktop
3. Type the IP or name of your computer. The computer name can be found on any Windows 10 machine by navigating to Start -> Settings -> System -> About, under "Full Device Name"
Contact ece-support@umn.edu if you don't know it.
4. Click connect
5. When prompted to enter your Internet ID/X500, simply type yourx500@ad.umn.edu. Make sure to include the "@ad.umn.edu" without the quotes.
6. Contact ece-support@umn.edu with questions.
We must add you to a professor's login group before Remote Desktop will work. Please contact us if you have issues so that we can verify this.
Download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Mac App Store.
Launch the app
Click New to configure the connection. Enter ad.umn.edu\: before your x500 in the username field.
4. Close the configuration window
5. Highlight the connection and click Start
