U of M Class Size Limits

Class size limits are set by the U of M department that owns the course and in most cases are the same as the class size limits on campus in discussion or lab sections.

See Class Size Limits (CIS Policy Reference Guide) for more information.

CIS Student Eligibility

See Student Eligibility (CIS Policy Reference Guide) for more information.

Students Taking the Course for High School Credit Only

Up to 25% of the students in a U of M class offered through CIS may take the course for high school credit only. This policy ensures that expectations for student discourse remain at a post-secondary level.

See "Students Taking the Course for High School Credit Only" (CIS Policy Reference Guide) for more information.

Combined Courses or Independent or Directed Study

A U of M course offered through CIS may not be combined with another high school course or offered as an independent study or directed study. This ensures that the course delivers the same quality, rigor, and student experience as the on-campus sections.
