I was raised in rural southern Indiana where I spent many years playing baseball, working on a watermelon farm, and jogging across the countryside. I graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 2019 where I received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics with a double major in computational science. While at Rose, I competed on the baseball team and was awarded the Barry Goldwater Scholarship (2018). In the fall of 2019, I began my PhD in mathematics at the University of Minnesota. I was awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship in the spring of 2021 and have been working with my advisors, Professors Gilad Lerman and Shuzhong Zhang, on theory, algorithms, and applications for mathematical optimization. This fall I am seeking an academic position to continue exploring the wonders of mathematics and its applications.
Outside of mathematics, I am highly active in my home parish. I am a lover of books, running, philosophical and theological conversations, sports - college baseball and basketball are my personal favorites - and the great outdoors.
