The goal of this project is to advance our mass spectrometry (MS) adductomics methods and develop algorithms to screen for an array of DNA adducts formed with hazardous chemicals playing a role in kidney cancer.
Over the past three decades the methods used to screen for DNA adducts in humans have largely investigated the effects of a single exposure at a time and provided limited information about causative agents in the etiology of cancer. In this project we are addressing the critical need to develop robust and specific methods to detect global DNA damage of the genome in a single assay for risk assessment.
