Manu hails from the southern state, Kerala in India. He got introduced to Chemistry during his high school years in Kerala. As a kid who loved colors, vibrant laboratory experiments excited him and intensified the desire to pursue Chemistry as a major discipline. After graduating with a Master's in Chemistry from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Manu joined CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune as Project Associate, where he worked on industrial catalysis research. Starting in 2022 as a graduate student at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, he joined the Bailey group to pursue Ph.D. research. Currently, Manu is working on the fundamental understanding of small molecule activation with complex multimetallic assemblies. Apart from research, Manu enjoys cooking, dancing, exploring Twin Cities breweries, restaurants, nightlife and hanging out with friends. After graduation, Manu’s aspiration is to extend research into post-doctoral level and join industry.
