Alyssa Kovalchick

Alyssa grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania before heading to Philadelphia for her undergraduate studies. She has always been passionate about the environment and the interconnectedness of biological and chemical processes, leading her to Biochemistry and eventually Inorganic Chemistry. At Temple University, Alyssa worked in the Dr. Zdilla laboratory on biomimetic chemistry and found her love for crystallography. This love for Inorganic Chemistry pushed her to pursue her graduate work at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Apart from her love of science, Alyssa plays piano, enjoys a good burger, watches Bones, hangs out with her cat Dart, and loves to spend time with her friends and loved ones. She hopes to stay in academia and encourage the next generation of chemists and scientists!
