The Round Robin Showmanship Contest gives an opportunity for the champion senior showmen from the 4-H divisions in each species of large animals to compete head-to-head for best all-round senior showman honors at the fair.
In this contest each contestant will be judged on their showmanship skills with each species of animal - Beef, Dairy, Goat, Horse, Poultry, Rabbit, Sheep, and Swine.
The judge will use a numerical scoring system to grade each individual in each species, with the ultimate winner determined by the total score over all species.
There is no limit on how many times a person may compete in the Round Robin Showmanship Contest over their career. However, an individual 4-H member may only win the Round Robin contest once.
First option to participate is offered to the Senior Champion and Senior Reserve Champion Showmanship winners in each species. Judges are asked to make a list of alternates from among senior showmanship participants.
Listings of eligibility order will be posted in the 4-H general exhibit building. Exhibitors are asked to confirm their participation by Saturday at 4:00.
Each contestant is asked to provide an animal in their species of participation to be used in the contest with all showmen showing the same species in the ring at the same time.
Awards will be presented to the Champion Round Robin Showmen and premiums of 1st place - $50, 2nd place - $40, 3rd place - $30, and 4th place - $20 will also be added to exhibitor’s fair premium checks.
